The Boatmen will be looking to bounce back from late heartbreak last time out as we head west again for a trip to Taunton Town.

It’s now two games without a win in the league for Paul Doswell & Ross White’s men, with defeat at high flying Walton & Hersham coupled with last weekends cruel loss to another team riding high in Gloucester City.

It was a devastating end to the game last time out for Sholing despite Vinnie Tume’s third goal for the club, with Blaise Riley-Snow’s extraordinarily harsh sending off coupled with an equally questionable penalty decision which saw the hosts snatch victory in the dying embers.

There are, however, reasons to be positive ahead of the trip to Somerset, with hosts Taunton Town only winning one of their last five in all competitions, as they go into the game off the back of a 2-1 defeat at Plymouth Parkway on Tuesday night.  Despite the Peacocks wayward form, there is only one league place and one point separating the two sides ahead of kick off, albeit with Taunton having played a game more.

Head-to-head

The Boatmen will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten streak against the Peacocks from last season, with a 1-1 draw in Somerset in August before a comfortable 2-0 victory for Sholing at the Mortgage Decisions Stadium in April.
