Sholing slipped to our 5th 1-0 defeat of the season meaning in the last 7 matches we've only managed 1 win & a draw. Like in the Paulton’s midweek match the only goal was difficult to accept with Bristol Manor Farm stretching their unbeaten run to six matches

Team News: Ryan Gosney failed a pre match fitness test, so Luke Deacon continued in goal. 10 minutes before kick-off Josh Batt was ruled out of the starting 11 with Owen Roundell replacing him. Marvin McLean, Conor Whiteley (on the bench), Brad Targett were available again.

The first chance of the match came via Ryan Cluett’s free kick which found the head of Dan Mason, but the striker could only head over without troubling Ben John in the BMF goal. Next it was Dan Mason that turned provider as his pass put Fatah Makhloufi away, but he was denied by Ben John.

Ryan Cluett was finding space down the left, but his crosses were unconverted. Likewise, Bristol Manor Farm were creating few chances without troubling Luke Deacon. On 13 minutes Lloyd Mills turned Ryan Cluett for BMF real first chance on goal, but his effort went over the bar. Brad Targett force Ben John to punch his shot away then Robin Nicholls shot lacked power and doesn’t hit the target.

On 21 minutes Lloyd Mills match was over when he was forced off with an injury and replaced by Theo Llewellyn. Sholing looking comfortable with the ball, knocking it around suddenly found themselves a goal behind a wayward back pass by Ryan Cluett dissected Byron Mason & Dan Miller and Kye Simpson pounced onto the mistake and slotted the ball past Luke Deacon. Jake Gosling had his cross deflected into the path of Ben Bament, but Sholing keeper Luke Deacon gathered the shot well to deny BMF doubling their lead. HT 1-0

On 50 mins Ben Bament found Simpson just inside the Sholing area but the goal scorer couldn’t add to his tally when hit the ball over the bar. Sholing were struggling to break down a stubborn home defence with most of their chances coming from set pieces by Cluett.

Sholing captain Bryon Mason headed over from another deep freekick. Both sides continued to press with Sholing seeing more of the ball in the 2nd half. BMF captain Aron Robbins did well to win possession and find Jake Gosling, who’s low cross was just cleared by Dan Miller.

On 66 minutes Jake Gosling’s next contribution was from his corner he found Josh Ford’s head, but he couldn’t hit the target and put his header wide. With 20 minutes remaining Conor Whiteley replaced Ryan Cluett to try and salvage something from the game.

Sholing broke down the right and Brad Targett’s cross found Dan Mason for what looked like a certain equaliser. BMF goalkeeper Ben John made a superb close range save deny Sholing a share of the points which we probably deserved.

A BMF chance fell to Kye Simpson, when Jake Gosling dispossessed Dan Miller, but from 6yds out the forward placed wide without troubling Luke Deacon. Dean Frampton was introduced with 8 minutes remaining replacing Fatah Makhloufi. As the match went into stoppage time Ben John once again denied Dan Mason, to ensure BMF the 3 points and condemn the Boatmen to yet another narrow defeat where a mistake and missed chances, once again sum up the second half of this season.
