Sholing made it 8 wins on the spin with an 8-0 win over Folland's Reserve side.  Boatmen went one better than last week's victory over their first team in another one-sided game.

Team News : Dave Diaper was limited in the number of Development squad players he could give a run out to, as they were cup tied in this competition. Jake Hoole started on the left, Barry Mason up top and Bradey Norton on the right.  The ever-popular Kevin Brewster, was making his 450th appearance for the club.   Several Folland's players who played last week for their First team, played again tonight for their Reserves.

Took only 6 minutes for Sholing to take the lead and it was a goal to remember!  JAKE HOOLE picked the ball up in central midfield, let fly from 30 yards and the ball soared into the top left corner.  Fantastic goal.  Jake then turned provider on 13 minutes, showing quick feet to skip past a couple of challenges on the edge of the box before slotting the ball into the path of KEVIN BREWSTER who picked out the bottom corner with a first time shot from just inside the area.

As expected, it was one-way traffic and on 26 minutes, Sholing had their third and JAKE HOOLE claimed it as his shot towards the near post from a narrow angle, somehow found it's way past the keeper.  Bobby Reach in the Folland's goal, was even more embarrassed on 38 minutes as he let the ball slip from his grasp, presenting JAMIE BULPITT with an empty goal to pass the ball into.

Jamie Bulpitt was pulling the strings in midfield and he fed a perfect pass into the path of BYRON MASON who got there ahead of the keeper to sweep the ball into the net.  The half time score didn't flatter Sholing at all, with a multitude of other chances created in a 45 that was played almost exclusively in the Folland's half.  HT 5-0

With the game, very much won already, Sholing eased up in the second half.  There was a worrying moment as Byron & the keeper collided, with both painfully banging knees against each other.  Byron was substituted with Jack Smith coming on. Bobby Reach soldiered on for a few minutes, but was clearly struggling and went off.  With no sub goalie, Henry Bates, an outfield player, had to pick up the gloves.

Remarkably, stand-in keeper Bates, who seemed to be enjoying himself, pulled off an excellent tip over to deny Barry Mason.  Baz was also very unfortunate not to score when somehow, the keeper smothered a point blank effort.  Sholing subbed their goalkeeper as well, Gosney wasn't injured, just very bored. However, his replacment, Jamie Bray, was called into action, when he had to scramble back into position to tip round the post a long range effort.

With many of the visiting players out on their feet, was no surprise when Sholing grabbed 3 goals in the final 10 minutes. On 81 mins, a corner came back to Brewy, whose cross was met by DAN MILLER with a thumping header from 6 yards.  KEVIN BREWSTER then scored with a lovely finish on 88 minutes, when Jamie Bulpitt teed him up just inside the box and Brewy, cool as you like, simply passed the ball just inside the post.  Goal number 8 arrived in added time with Sholing doing a succession of one touch passes into the area, ending with a block that fell nicely to OWEN ROUNDELL to tap home.  Sholing will be away to Brockenhurst in the next round.  FT 8-0
