Watching football at Step 4 and Step 5 level is normally a quiet tranquil affair. Half way through the 2012/2013 season, a very small group of Sholing fans started singing a couple of chants during the games to create an atmosphere and with tongues firmly placed in cheeks, decided to called themselves the "Ultras".

Since that time, the number of Ultras has continued to grow and we are a joyful mixture of men and women, boys and girls, of all ages. We sing throughout Sholing games, home or away, and our aim is to have fun and become the 12th man for Sholing FC as we support them vocally. We have a huge variety of chants and tunes covering the team and most of the players, all of which are good natured (and often a bit silly) as per our custom made "there's a plane" chant at the Mackoy Stadium!
As we all know, the term "Ultras" can have some rather sinister connotations in regards to unruly and hostile fans in some European countries. Rest assured, the Sholing Ultras are well mannered and friendly and will welcome anyone who wishes to join their ranks in supporting The Boatmen!
