Dan Mason grabbed his 43rd goal of the season as Sholing defeated Brockenhurst in our last away game of the season.  The win keeps the Boatmen in with a chance of finishing 3rd as we go into the final league weekend.

Team News: Few changes were required as Byron Mason was suspended and there were injuries to TJ, Wort & Hubbard, plus Norton was unavailable.  Jamie Bulpitt returned from injury to join Brewster, Roundell & Hoole in midfield. Royl went to right back and Zac went up top with Dan Mason.  Fresh from his England Schoolboy's appearance, Jean-Luc Ramdin was on the bench, alongside Development Squad top scorer, Luke Bergg.

Was no end of season feel to the opening minutes of the game, as both teams looked lively and on the front foot.  Sholing had the first chance when a Kev Brewster inswinging corner looked to be heading into the far corner, but the keeper palmed it out.   Morrison in goal for the home team was having a couple of nervous moments with his kicking & handling, which prompted Sholing to close him down quickly.

Sholing took the lead on 12 minutes when a flick on found DAN MASON 10 yards outside the box, he made an extra yard of space to get away a low shot that went inside the near post for his 43rd of the season.

Brockenhurst were looking to use their pace down the flanks and worked a couple of decent openings, but each time either the final ball or shot were a bit rushed.  Sholing continued to look dangerous from Brewster's set piece delivery as once again, the home keeper didn't look that confident under pressue.   HT 0-1

Sholing were looking to extend their lead after the restart and Dan Mason nipped in between the defender & keeper to get his foot to the ball, but his goalbound effort was blocked away.  On 58 minutes a corner found the arriving Dan Miller who met it with a strong header, but it struck a defender on the line and was scrambled clear.

On the hour mark Dan Mason won a race with his marker to get to a ball over the top, but on the stretch, his lobbed effort cleared the advancing keeper, but dropped just wide.   Game then entered a scrappy phase with a few stoppages and substitutions that meant it never really got back on track.  Brockenhust pushed for an equaliser, but the defence held strong, with Owen Royl in particular making sure Barker had a pretty quiet game.  Luke Bergg & Jean-Luc Ramdin were given a few minutes of first team action late on as the Boatmen comfortably saw out the game for 3 points and a 25th clean sheet of the season.  FT 0-1
