Team News: Sholing development side had their third home game in eight days. Iain Calder made five changes from Saturday’s 6-1 win over Alton Jordan Brooks & Jack Attrill both returned after injury, Tanaka Madzvamutse & Nick Yeomans returning from first team duty with Josh Helm, Harrison Butler & Jack Fisher dropping to the bench. The match again was again overseen by 1st team manager Dave Diaper and Chairman Gerry Roberts who were no doubt scouting for replacements for first team this Saturday with suspensions and injuries hitting the first team squad.

A good turn out again (61) for the 2nd week running, saw Sholing convincingly beat their visitors 6-0, with a very good team performance.

Within the first minute (50 seconds), Luke Bergg opened the scoring before Colden Common really knew what had happened. To be fair to them they kept battling amid an onslaught down the left and right, with Marlon Mason, Luke Bergg and Nick Yeomans getting in behind them and causing their back line problem after problem. Andy Furness was cautioned by referee Stuart Carter for a foul on 28 mins

Our back line where in complete control and with Jean Luc-Ramdin surging forward from right back, it was only a matter of time before Sholing scored their 2nd goal Luke Bergg squared for Joel Ghosh on 37 mins following some good work from Bergg. On 43 minutes Marlon Mason was cautioned by referee Carter for dissent. This was followed by Nick Yeomans scoring our third on 44mins again it was Luke Bergg with the assist. HT 3-0

Andy Furness was replaced by Alex Brady on 50 mins. Left back Jack Attrill had a bright start to the 2nd half before he took a knock and was substituted on 53mins by Sam Gregory. It took a while for Sam Gregory to get into the rhythm of the game and our reshuffled shape, (during this time Colden Common had their best spell) but his physical presence started to show and he then sheered up the midfield with Kristian Cozzolino and Harvey Craig and we took charge again.

Man of the Match Luke Bergg, was put through on 69 mins before he was fouled in the box and the resulting penalty by Marlon Mason made it 4-0 before the penalty was taken Dan Hansford who had given away the penalty was cautioned for his protests . Jack Fisher replaced the excellent Jean Luc Ramdin on 70 mins and Marlon Mason was substituted by Tanaka (TK) Madzvamutse on 78 mins.

Colden Common continued to try and get on the score sheet and when substitute No. 15. Brad Walsh came on for Matt Wardlaw, he linked up well with No.9 Jack Agnew and No. 11 Luke Robinson and they had a couple of chances. The best was a rasping shot which beat Jordan Brookes and bounced back the correct side of the line (for us) from the underside of the bar.

Jordan Brooks had a very good game, was vocal throughout and distributed the ball well at every opportunity from the back.

Our 5th goal (and best move of the match) started at the back, was played through the middle, switched to the right and then a surging run by Nick Yeomans put Luke Bergg through for a well taken low shot on 86mins

Luke Bergg scored his hat trick on 90+2, when he got his head onto a Nick Yeomans corner. We could have scored more but the Colden Common keeper, Dylan Dibben made some good saves.

The referee wasn't going to let any dissent go, especially verbal and he gave out two yellow cards: Marlon Mason and the Colden Common centre back, Dan Hansford. FT 6-0

I thought our Captain Sam Jenman had a really good game, was vocal / encouraging and played well alongside Kieran Winman. Both where solid at the back and had the confidence to play the ball and controlled the game.

MOTM: Luke Bergg ("is on Fire!) 3 goals and 2 assists and winning the penalty.
