Kevin Brewster had a hand in all three goals, setting up two and scoring from a trademark freekick, as the Boatmen opened up an incredible, 25 points gap at the top of the table.  Sholing legend "Brewy" showed he still possesses one of the best right foots in the business with two perfect crosses and a lovely 20 yard set-piece strike.

Team News: TJ was unavailable and Pete Castle rested as Kevin Brewster started at right back in his 485th game for the club, with Owen Roundell partnering Miller. Marv was still injured, so Owen Royl continued at left back.  Tadley Calleva were making their first visit to the Universal Stadium in the Wessex League and were looking to continue the form that had seen them both beat and draw with Sholing earlier in the campaign.

Was a smaller than usual crowd, what with Saints & Eastleigh both having big games at home nearby.  The sun couldn't take the edge off a bitter easterly wind as Sholing once again, opened the scoring early on in the game.  After a buildup through midfield, the ball was played to the right wing for Kevin Brewster to swing in a cross to DAN MASON to power in a header past the keeper from 8 yards.  It was almost a carbon copy soon after, this time as Brewy's freekick delivery from the right was met by D-Dan, but this time it was straight at the keeper.

Tadley were denied by Gosney on 9 minutes when Nicholls connected well from 25 yards, but the Sholing stopper pushed it round the post.  On 20 mins, Lee Wort worked some space and his shot took a nick off the defender, with the keeper adjusting himself quickly to deflect the ball away with his legs.  Dan Miller had been adjudged by the the referee to have fouled a defender when a corner was swung in. However, a few minutes later a defender seemed only interested in blocking off and holding onto Miller from another corner, with the ref this time giving nothing.

The Referee did give Sholing a freekick on 40 minutes on the edge of the area after Dan Mason had been fouled.  KEVIN BREWSTER lined it up and hit a right foot shot around the outside of the wall just inside the upright with the keeper unmoved on his line.  It was a typical classy effort from Brewy as Sholing went into half time with a comfortable lead.  HT 2-0

Dan Miller stretched to cut out a pass that would have almost certainly led to a goal in the 48th minute, before Gosney was once again alert to tip a shot round the post.  That was really it for the visitors, who never really showed the intensity & physicality in their play that caused the Boatmen problems in the two previous encounters this season.  Ryan Gosney was to secure his 30th clean sheet of the campaign, taking his tally for the club to 96.

It was the combination yet again of Brewy crossing for D-Dan, with the striker trying to loop the ball back over the keeper, but it drifted just wide of the upright.  Brad Targett was repeatedly skinning the Tadley right back, with his best effort a chip that went across the face of goal and wide.

LEE WORT had set himself a target of 50 goals this season and he was able to accomplish that impressive feat on 65 minutes.  Kevin Brewster whipped in a right wing cross that Worty chested down and on the stretch, prodded past the keeper at the near post.  Second time in his Sholing career that the striker had hit the half century of goals and he's now just 1 away from 250 for the club.

The referee gave a harsh yellow to Tadley's Fragata and then gave Dan Mason a lengthy talking to for a nothing challenge. There was also to be another unnessecary yellow for Bradey Norton in added time.  Sholing could have added to the scoreline, with the rare sight of Dan Mason's touch letting him down in the area, but it was win number 31 of the season for the Boatmen, who now sit 25 points ahead of second place Horndean.  To put that into perspective, 25 points covers the 2nd to 15th place teams.  FT 3-0
