It was a warm, but overcast day as the game got underway on a good pitch with Sholing attacking the clubhouse end where most supporters had gathered.  Sholing started the stronger, with both Marv & TJ getting in behind on the flanks, but for the opening 20 minutes, the visitors couldn't match their build-up play with an effort on goal.  There was an early blow to the Boatmen as Pete Castle had to go off after just 19 minutes.

It was 26 mins before either keeper was tested, as the Bemerton stopper collected a shot from Jamie Bulpitt which was straight at him.  The deadlock was broken on 32 minutes when Kev Brewster fired in a corner across the 6 yard box and BYRON MASON was there to guide his header inside the far post, past the man on the line.

Seven minutes later and it was 2-0 as once again, Kev Brewster put in a right wing corner, this time just outside the 6 yard box where TJ CUTHBERTSON rose highest and powered in a header from 8 yards.  The home side's best play came from their Number 11 and his whipped in cross almost evaded the clutches of Gosney, who gathered at the second attempt.  Gos got up and spotted Lee Wort in space and fired his long clearance into this path, but Worty's shot on the run across the keeper, just spun away from the far post.   HT 0-2

Sholing made a change for the restart with Lee Wort making way for Marlon Mason and he helped to set up the Boatmen's 3rd goal on 52 minutes.  Some nice play down the right wing by TJ, saw him set the ball back to Brewy to whip in a cross that Marlon, with his back to goal, chested into the path of DAN MASON, who took a touch and smashed a lovely shot into the bottom corner from 18 yards to claim his 12th goal of the season.

Boatmen were looking like we could score with every attack and Barry Mason was denied when his powerful shot was pushed round the post by a full length dive by the keeper.  Sholing won a corner on 71 minutes and you can guess the rest!  Kev Brewster made it a hat-trick of assists as his delivery into the heart of the 6 yard box saw BYRON MASON arrive to glance a downward header into the far corner.

TJ Cuthbertson rampaged forward and his fierce shot from just inside the box went inches wide of the near post.  Then Kev Brewster almost grabbed himself a deserved goal, as his 22 yard freekick curled agonisingly just over the bar.  With the game won by Sholing, the last 10 minutes saw the home side looking for a consolation, with a cross shot going wide and claims for a penalty turned down. However, Bemerton couldn't deny the Boatmen's 10th clean sheet in 20 games played this season.  FT 0-4
