The team have steadily progressed each season adding a few players to aid the growth of the team. We finished runners up in 2013-14 in one of the top EDMSL leagues. Four Semi finals and one victory in their 5 summer tournaments, shows how far the team have come. We train at Test Park on Saturdays and most players attend ETC to further their development.

Match Reports 2014/15 : Sep to Oct

21 Dec Sholing Whites 5-2 City Central  Scorers: Ben Beadle Tipper 3, Max Davis 1, Finley Lintott-Warrillow 1  Man of the match : Max Davis

MaxDaviesThe game started at 12pm and by 12.09pm City Central scored. Not ideal, but the boys have been there before and they took it in their stride and carried on with some excellent defence from the back three, Adam French, Lewis Evans and Skipper Reece Kempton. However, it was not much longer before Ben Daglish had to dive to make a spectacular save preventing a 0-2 score within the first 15 minutes of the game. Sholing started to get stuck in and Max Davis played a shot directly to Lewis Amos who took a climb but was unfortunate and just missed the target. Max Davis was having none of this and got a break, he took the ball through a number of City Centre players took a shot but he shot just left of the goal. Some good passing among the players allowed Dan Gregory to get the ball over to Finley Lintott-Warrillow who ran hard, took a shot which hit the cross bar. City Central regained possession and with some neatly executed play, scored again in the 25th minute. HT 0-2

The second half got off to a good start when Max Davis from the corner, got the ball to Finley Lintott Warrillow, who smashed it into the back of the net. All this within 2 minutes of starting. You could see the boys suddenly come alive. Lewis Amos sprung an attack and successfully passed the ball to Ben Beadle (Tipper) who ran with it and in Ben's usual style hit the back of the net. Within another 5 minutes, Tipper was there again, but had a goal disallowed for being off-side. City Central tried to raise their game but were no match in this second half for the Sholing boys, they tried a variety of tactics but again were no match for our goalkeeper Ben Daglish who was regularly on his toes, literally, having to save a ball, pushing it over the cross bar. Lewis Evans tried to deal with a cross in, however the ball curled and made its way towards our goal and was saved by Ben Daglish, to the relief of the team. Max Davis (pictured) kept up the momentum with another goal in the 51st minute when he saw the keeper off his line and instinctively smashed the ball first time from inside his own half to score what has to be the goal of the season. It did not stop there with Sholing certainly wanting to stamp their mark, Tipper went on to score another two goals giving him a hatrick. FT 5-2

A Nice end to 2014 as we remain unbeaten and look forward to 2015.

14 Dec Sholing Whites 2-1 Colden Common  Goal scorers: Adam French & Lewis Evans  Man of the match: Adam French

Every season each team has one get out of jail card and this was ours. On a very heavy muddy pitch this was not a day for playing good passing football through the middle. Colden Common had the better of the first half and seemed more up for the battle. Some brave defending particularly by skipper Reece Kempton kept the score down to 1-0  at half time. Finley Lintott-Warrillow came close when he flashed one against the crossbar from a tight angle which ended up going out for a throw in. Ben Daglish had to make way early on due to a continuing leg injury for substitute Adam French who was rested due to a toe injury. But Adam was able to put in a sterling performance suring up the defence. Sholing struggled to control the midfield and create any real clear chances so half time could not come soon enough. HT 0-1.

The second half saw Sholing settle and look more in control although Colden Common were clearly not going to make life easy for the lads. Dan Gregory now pushed into the centre of midfield alongside our engine Jack Miles to sure things up. Max Davis now playing up top started to make a nuisance of himself and slowly but surely Colden Common started to look tired as wave after wave of attacks started to pay dividends. Eventually Adam French who was playing at full back got on the end of a squared ball and slotted home to make it all square at 1-1. With 10 minutes left to play Sholing kept pressing forward and in the last minute of the game Lewis Evans latched onto a lose ball to finish off the tie at 2-1 with a matter of seconds on the clock.

That's now 8 wins on the bounce and with the halfway point approaching the boys are looking good as they continue to mount their bid for glory. FT 2-1

7 Dec - Sholing Whites 3-2 Botley Village Lions   Goal scorers: Max Davis, Lewis Evans, Finley Lintott-Warrillow.  Man of the Match: Dan Gregory

After not playing for over month, Sholing were bursting to get back to league action. A bright start saw us go close several times in the first half of this table topping fixture with some fine saves by the Botley keeper. The woodwork was struck 4 times but Botley somehow hung on. Solid defending by skipper Reece Kempton and fullbacks Ben Daglish and Adam French, limited Botleys chances. Sholing went one down against the run of play.  HT 0-1

The second half got off to a bad start when Botley converted a penalty. However, the boys dug deep and with Man of the match, Dan Gregory, pulling the strings in the middle of the park, only 24 hrs after a sickness bug, Sholing kept up the pressure. Keeper Lewis Amos was replaced by Ben Daglish in goal and Lewis gave his vocal support to spur the team on. A quick attack from Ben Beadle Tipper, setting up Max Davis who converted well, put the whites back in at 1-2. 5 mins later an identical move by Ben and Max was ruled as offside.

A great run by Dan Gregory taking the ball to the deadball line and cutting back to Lewis Evans who cooly finished levelled the score at 2-2. Now it was game on. Good pressure by Sholing finally paid off when Max Davis centred from a corner to find the head of Finley LW who headed down in off the chest of a Botley player. Jack Miles who was a great example of the teams determination drove the lads on to the final whistle.  FT 3-2

Before todays game both teams paid their respects to the brave boys of 1914 to commemorate the Christmas day truce by having a friendship photo taken.

2 Nov - Sholing Whites 2-1 Hedge End Rangers   Goal scorers: Jack Miles, Finley Lintott-Warrillow

This was always going to be a close encounter. Sholing started the brighter, but after 10 mins, a thunderbolt from Hedge End gave them a lead against the run of play. This seemed to spur the Whites on and soon they were back on level terms after Finley LW laid on Jack Miles who touched out of his feet and then drilled into the top corner from 15 yds giving Jack his first goal of the season.  Sholing then took the advantage when Max Davis crossed into the Hedge End Box which was then directed onto goal by Ben Beadle / Tipper, the keeper blocked Bens effort and Finley LW followed in to make 2-1 with his 12th goal of the season. HT 2-1

The second half was a physical battle with chances being created at both ends. A string of fine saves by Ben Daglish earned him his second Man of the match award. Daniel Gregory ran Ben very close with a great all round performance and very near the end of the game Dan made a last ditched tackle in the box to deny Hedge end an equaliser remincent of the late great Bobby Moore. In the last few seconds of the game Adam French was the last man on the line to make a superb goal line clearance saving the game from being a draw. FT 2-1

6 wins from 6 games and sitting top of the league keep up the good work boys and stay focused.
