Today's game was an important game for both sides with Bishop Cleeve conceding an average of four goals a game and Sholing's scoring average just over one goal a game. Sholing kicked off and very quickly were getting frustrated by the uneven bumpy pitch not allowing them to play their normal passing game. Jack Smith & Marvin Mclean set up Nick Watts but shot wide. Sam Wilson was penalized by referee Staynings earning him a stern lecture for his foul.

Bishops Cleeve looked to get forward at every opportunity and on 8 mins James Vercesi pulled his shot wide. Then centre forward Conor Sherry was caught offside. Nick Watts corner found Alex Sawyer who had his shot blocked and the rebound fell to Nathan Lynch who shot wide. Once again Conor Sherry looked dangerous for Cleeve but his shot was off target. Christian Boateng set up Conor Sherry but the forward eager to get on the score sheet was again caught offside. A clash of heads on halfway left Byron Mason & Harlie Price prostrate on the ground but both recovered quickly.

The game was getting scrappy and a little uninspiring. Goalkeeper Steve Benbow was left injured after Nick Watts found Sam Wilson in the box and his save at Wilson's feet went for a corner. Both goalkeepers were coming to the fore, this time it was Matt Brown who saved from Danny Sherry following Harlie Price's corner. Thirty minutes into the game the heavens opened and left the pitch a little tricky. A slip on the now wet pitch by Stuart Mott let in Conor Sherry who in turn found John Dodd but his shot was well held by Matt Brown. Just before half time Callum Preece was cautioned for a foul on Jack Smith. HT 0-0

Sholing came out looking more positive following their half time team talk. They were playing a higher line pushing Bishops Cleeve deeper into their half. On 52 mins Cleeve's frustration resulted in Conor Sherry being cautioned for a foul on TJ Cuthbertson.

On 56 mins Sholing had to make their first substitution when a back injury to Alex Sawyer saw him replaced by Kevin Brewster. John Dodd saw his free kick well saved by Matt Brown. At the other end Steve Benbow was also called into action making successive saves from Byron Mason who had penetrated their defence with some ease. Sam Wilson header cleared from Kevin Brewster corner. Good work between Kevin Brewster Nick Watts & TJ Cuthbertson finally saw Nick Watts shot into the side netting.

On 63 mins both sides made substitutions Christian Boateng was replaced by Matt Magee and Nathan Lynch replaced by Alex Baldachinno. Matt Brown again was called into action when a Cleeve free kick was headed goal wards but Brown pushed the ball around the post. On 69 mins Sholing made their final change with Barry Mason replacing Sam Wilson coming on the the field on his 30th birthday with the Ultras singing happy birthday to him. With 10 minutes to go Cleeve introduced Adji Gnadji for John Dodd. Sholing continued to take the game to Cleeve but Steve Benbow in the Cleeve goal continued to thwart the Sholing attack. FT 0-0
